My journey into woodworking began at the age of four, when I first learned to swing a hammer and drive a nail. I’d spend hours crafting makeshift toys from two-by-fours and nails—little did I know, that’s where the spark was ignited. While I’ve always had an appreciation for the beauty of trees, wood, and wood art, it never crossed my mind that I’d one day build something for someone else.

Fast forward to age 18, fresh out of high school with no clear direction, and I found myself returning to my roots in woodworking. I began by building furniture for my newly retired parents as they settled into their home—tables, countertops, and cabinets. It wasn’t long before friends started asking for custom pieces, then their parents, then their colleagues. And just like that, the journey had truly begun.

With nothing but a chop saw and a sander, the early days were a challenge, but my passion and drive kept me going. After nearly two years of hard work, I’d saved enough to invest in better tools, which allowed me to elevate my craft and take the business to new heights. Then, in 2021, while reviewing receipts for pine materials, it became clear I needed a change—a big one. So, I took a leap of faith and invested in a sawmill, embracing yet another steep learning curve.

When the sawmill arrived, I quickly realized I’d overlooked one crucial step: I needed logs to cut. So, I set out to introduce myself to local tree businesses, letting them know who I was and what I was looking for. And thus, the adventure continued.
